Special Speaker - Christopher Wayne Ashcraft, creation scientist Fri. eve., Sept. 3, 2010, 7PM Dinner, 8:15PM Lecture |
John Mackay had to cancel due to health reasons, but we are fortunate and honored to host Chris Ashcraft, a highly qualified, local creation scientist. Christopher Wayne Ashcraft is a creation scientist, speaker, and educator. He obtained the Bachelor of Science in biology from Wayland Baptist University in 1989, a Master of Science in biology from Texas Tech University in 1996, and a Master of Education from the University of Washington in 2008. Chris was a research technician for about 10 years, specializing in plant tissue culture and genetic transformation technology. He is currently a high school science teacher at Cedar Park Christian School where he teaches Biology, Chemistry, and Creation Apologetics where Biblical integration is encouraged. Chris moved from research into teaching in response to a call from God to work in creation science missions. He is firmly committed to researching and teaching creation apologetics and speaks periodically at churches, schools, and creation organizations in the Northwest United States. He is the founder of the Northwest Creation Network and the CreationWiki Internet encyclopedia of creation apologetics, where he serves as senior administrator. He also organizes the Seattle Creation Conference. Chris has been active in creation missions for 15 years and is the architect of some of the largest creationist websites on the internet. Chris will be talking about the Origin of Life and Design vs. Darwinism. Origin of Life: The origin of life remains the theory of evolution's most significant obstacle. More than 150 years after Darwin published his theory, and following exhaustive efforts, evolutionists are no closer to solving the riddle of how life began. Despite countless attempts using every conceivable condition, biochemists have been unable to produce genetic information (DNA) and/or proteins in a simulated natural environment and thereby show how even the simplest cell could have formed without intelligent design. Amazing Animals: Design vs. Darwinism: What would the Earth be like without animals? They are indeed a very special part of the creation that provides endless fascination and brings much love into our lives. Previously unknown animals are discovered each year and the complicated world of these creatures has been made clearer by recent scientific discoveries. This presentation will focus on the amazing abilities of animals that are often a source of inspiration to engineers. Humans have long practiced biomimicry in an attempt to glean the ingenuity behind biological designs, and in doing so testify to the creative power of our Father in heaven. This is a fascinating discussion.

They have recently relocated to the U.S. Ron has gone through an amazing set of circumstances that can only be called a mighty move of God in his life. He is calling it “The Awakening,” and his life will never be the same. Ron says, “It seems that many believers have laid down their God-tools and stepped down from their God-given position and need restoration. We need a focus on our positioning, God-given authority, and a view of just how much bigger God is than the darkness and its strongholds.” Come and hear how Ron has been transformed over the past few months by the miracle working power of Almighty God.
