Rabbi's Report

“The LORD is good and a stronghold in the day of trouble and He knows all those who put their trust in Him.” These words to an old song from the seventies still rings true today. God has poured out his grace and mercy on our congregation as we have learned to trust Him in all things. Trials come and go but the LORD never fails, and the “day of trouble” is short compared to eternity. We are still learning wonderful truths from the Book of Hebrews. We should be done by the end of the year.

We have been in our new facility for three years and it finally feels like home. We have completed lots of projects including new roofs, furnace, stairs, sound booth, office copier, LCD projector and playground equipment for the children. In the next few months we will see some dramatic changes as we hope to pave the parking lot and paint both buildings. This month we tore out all the old windows in the sanctuary and replaced them with dual-glaze, high quality windows that actually open. This will create sorely needed cross ventilation especially during the warm days of summer. We have also cut down mounds of blackberry and hundreds of alders opening up our property and exposing the majesty of the tall timber and the beauty of the sword ferns below.

Part of our Vision Statement is to “Expand the kingdom of God through ministries and missions.” This has been an exciting year as we have sent out Beit Tikvah members to bring the message of Messiah Yeshua to the nations. Ken and Lori Morris went to Brazil and returned with incredible stories of physical healings. This fit right in with what the LORD was doing at Beit Tikvah as we studied Hebrews chapter 11 and learned what it means to see with the eyes of faith. We began to believe for and see miracles of healing in our midst. Hallelujah!

Rachel, Shoshana and Daniel Weed, as well as my daughter, Eliza, all went to Israel this summer. They went with Souled Out and Birthright Israel and shared their faith as they traveled. May their labors bring forth much fruit. Linda Coffaro leaves at the end of this month for Siberia. She will be ministering with Jonathan Bernis and Jewish Voice Ministries at a huge messianic festival where many Jewish people are expected to attend. Jen Parker leaves this October for ten months in Jerusalem studying at Israel College of the Bible. Her plan is to be better equipped in messianic ministry and return to Beit Tikvah to serve. May there be many to follow in her footsteps.

Our Fall Holidays are coming up beginning next month. We love to worship Yeshua as we see Him fulfilling the Festivals of Israel. Check out the calendar enclosed and join us for some or all of the services. You’ll be glad you did.

Blessings and Shalom,

Hylan Slobodkin
Messianic Rabbi
