Rendezvous with the Rabbi
♫ The LORD is good and a stronghold in the day of trouble,
and He knows all those who put their trust in Him. The LORD is good.
The LORD is good to me. ♫ These are the words to a song we sang in the 70’s,
but the meaning remains the same today. God is good, all the time. He knows
those who trust Him, who believe in and have put their faith in Him. He knows
you and you know Him. You can have a relationship with the living God.
I remember the first time I heard that God was infinite and personal.
It was an amazing concept; something I had never thought of before. Coming out of
Eastern religion, I believed God was infinite. But to believe He is personal meant
something, well, personal. Could God know me in this way? Could He, did He know
me intimately? Did He know my thoughts? How scary. Yet He is good. The
LORD is good to me.
I discovered that God indeed knew me personally. In fact,
He knew me even before He formed me in my mother’s womb. He knows the days
of my life that are numbered for me. This is up front and personal. This
is infinite and personal. We truly worship and serve an amazing God.
I chose my mug shot above purposely. Our Purim Celebration
this year has a western theme. Our Children’s Carnival is from 3:00 to 5:00 PM.
We will have western-appropriate rides and lots of fun. Our Purim Play,
written by Andrew Reed and directed by Crystal Latimer, is called "A Rootin’ Tootin’ Purim".
It begins at 6:00 PM. Join us on Sunday, March 16th as we celebrate God’s great
deliverance from our enemies in Persia long, long ago. Be sure to wear your best
western/country gear. Get out your boots and hats.
I began teaching and preaching through the Book of Daniel exactly
one year ago. We are now in chapter 9, learning about Daniel’s seventy "weeks"
till the coming of Messiah the Prince. What an amazing book. What an amazing chapter.
What an amazing God. They say the teacher learns more than the student. I hope
we are all learning and growing as we see God’s Word come alive, literally. Prophecy
fulfilled in Messiah Yeshua! I love it. You can listen to our messages online at
www.BeitTikvah.us. Move your curser over "Messages"
and listen away.
